New Hires πŸŽ‰

Big congratulations to all the Scrimba students who’ve landed jobs this week! πŸ₯³ πŸŽ‰

Carl is 44, had a pretty hard time of it lately with some serious health problems and surgeries, which now limits him to remote work.

He has just been hired as remove Frontend React dev!

Thankfully, his health is on the mend and this marks the end of what he says was a very dark period in his life.

And what’s really cool is that this is a family affair!!! His wife and daughter are also following his footsteps in becoming developers. Very cool!

Don't forget to check out our Scrimba student success page for more inspirational tales!

Code Review of the Week πŸ…

Anyone can create a code review in response to a project posted in the #πŸ”Žcode-reviews channel, but only Pro members can request one.

This week’s Code Review of the Week is by Jack! you can check it out here.

To learn how to submit a code review, check out this scrim by Instructor Guil Hernandez!

I Built This πŸ› οΈ

Let’s highlight some of the work that our Scrimba community members have completed!

Declan has built a multi-step form using React! This is a fully functional and very well designed experience!

This is Declan’s first React project and it’s safe to say he did a fantastic job.

See the live deployment here!

What have you built this week? Share it with us in the πŸ‘·i-built-this channel!

Scrimba Podcast πŸŽ™οΈ

Meet Amy Corson πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ! Amy is a recently hired new developer. She’s also an aspiring comedian! During the pandemic, she realized she was unhappy with her day job and decided to change it. So: this episode is both insightful and funny!

In this interview, Amy talks about learning to code and how her brother, also a self-taught developer, introduced her to Scrimba. You’ll learn about ghost buses, local coding meetups, and how help can come from the unlikeliest of places. Amy also teaches you how to pick a coding project you’re not going to give up on, even if it might give you food poisoning. Ultimately, you will hear how Amy approached both studying and applying for jobs, how she prepared for the job interview that landed her the job she’s doing now, and why vague emails from recruiters are even more stressful when you’re in the mountains.

We'll look at:

⏱️ Starting the stopwatch

⏱️ Stopping the stopwatch
