New course! 📚

Micha's playlist on building web forms — Form creation goodness! 😇

This week we are proud to announce a new playlist created by Scrimba grad and Bootcamp code reviewer Micha! 🤩

While filling out forms can sometimes be tedious, building them can be fun! In "Build a sign-up form," Michaella teaches you the various form input types and attributes and how they behave inside forms. You'll learn:

HTML markup for accessible form labels and inputs
Styling for form elements
Writing JavaScript to submit forms and update the page
JavaScript validation for required form fields

If you're new to building web forms or want to dive deeper into forms, this will be an immensely helpful playlist for you.

Big congratulations to all the Scrimba students who've landed jobs this week! 🥳 🎉

Dayz - I Got Hired - Hi everyone I got my first dev job as a frontend developer for a digital agency recently! How I landed the job was pretty cool. Basically they found me on linkedin and reached out. I met them over coffee for an informal interview to get to know each other, then another meeting for a more formal chat because I showed I was interested to work with them. After that they sent me a coding challenge to complete - basically recreate a webpage they designed and the goal was to see if my fundamentals in css/html was good and if I had an eye for design (because they like developers who also understand what looks good - paddings and spacing!) and to see if I can make responsive websites using modern css ie minimal media queries == flexbox and grid!. The challenge is pretty much everything that scrimba teaches in the frontend developer path. And the important point on how they even found me – I put "frontend developer" in my linkedin title – exactly like what we're told to do when we complete the entire course. I remember when I first did that I was like "seriously? I finish the course and now I can call myself a frontend developer? okayy... feeling like an imposter here..." 😆 well I guess it works! I think another key reason is I showed them I have a diverse skillset and am a self-starter that is able to learn new things - basically skilled generalist - which is what small agency teams need. I'm about 3 weeks into the job and am enjoying solving real world css challenges! So far the biggest challenges for me are somehow dealing with SVGs (perhaps scrimba can create a course for that? Dayz has been hired as a Front End developer for a digital agency! They say that the company reached out to them after seeing their profile on LinkedIn.

For their coding challenge, the task was to recreate a webpage that the company had previously designed -- which Dayz says was an easy task since it was essentially everything that Scrimba teaches in the career path! 😎🎉

Meet Khaidem Sandip Singha 🇺🇸! He's a Scrimba student from Assam, India, who recently got a job at Amazon! 🎉 Originally, he studied civil engineering, before realizing he was more interested in coding. In this episode, you'll hear how he learned to code, battled depression, and reverse-engineered a path to a FAANG company.

You will also learn about his approach to problem-solving and the benefits of practicing on LeetCode - not many students we interviewed did that, but Khaidem completed one thousand challenges! 😮

He also shares some details about Amazon's interview process and his approach to keeping up motivation. 🏋️‍♂️
